About the Founder
Santhosh Asokan is the Founder and Lead Trading Mentor at Sortino Quants, specialising in professional intraday trading education with a strong focus on Index Futures, Options, quantitative market analysis, and institutional trading methodologies.
His journey in the financial markets began in 2013, driven by a deep interest in understanding market microstructure and the underlying mechanics that influence price behaviour. Over more than a decade of active market participation, he has developed extensive expertise in Index Futures and Options, combining statistical thinking, probability-based decision making, and disciplined execution to build structured trading methodologies.
Rather than relying on prediction or speculative approaches, his trading philosophy is centred on risk management, market structure, quantitative analysis, and repeatable execution. His framework is designed to help traders develop consistency through process-driven decision making while maintaining disciplined risk control.
Alongside practical market experience, Santhosh has undertaken extensive research into institutional trading concepts including Market Profile, Auction Market Theory, Volume Spread Analysis (VSA), derivatives pricing, volatility behaviour, and quantitative market analytics. These concepts form the foundation of the educational framework delivered through Sortino Quants.
His professional experience is further complemented by an MSc in Global Financial Trading (Distinction) from London, where he graduated as a Postgraduate University Topper. The programme strengthened his expertise across derivatives, portfolio theory, financial markets, quantitative methods, statistics, and risk management, bridging academic finance with real-world trading practice.
